Major Updates at the Lib with help from Revitalize 62966, Wright Building Center, Burke Electric, and Dagner Finishing and Restoration!

We are excited to announce that we are nearing completion of a new round of updates to the theater. Thanks to a generous $10,000 donation from Revitalize 62699, we were able to upgrade our sound system—a much-needed improvement to continue screening modern films and booking live musical performances. These enhancements are vital for the longevity of our beloved theater and organization. By offering high-quality entertainment at an affordable price, we can support future projects while promoting culture and the arts throughout Southern Illinois. A heartfelt thank you to Revitalize 62699 for their continued support!

But that’s not all. We’d also like to extend our gratitude to Dagner Finishing and Restoration, Wright Building Center, and Burke Electric for donating their time and supplies to construct a new front-of-house mixing booth. This new addition will house our updated mixing equipment, enabling our sound engineers to deliver superior audio-visual experiences for our guests. Special thanks to Logan Dagner, our contractor, who masterfully crafted a booth that feels perfectly at home in our 100+ year-old theater, blending modern functionality with historic charm.

In addition, Dagner Finishing and Restoration, along with Wright Building Center, helped us complete a brand-new concession stand bar. This renovation includes a new popcorn machine (to replace our broken one), a bottle cooler for our new Fitz sodas, and a cash register. The updated stand provides a classic yet refreshed look to our lobby, and our staff now have the space and tools they need to offer excellent service and delicious concessions.

To celebrate these exciting updates, we’re planning a relaunch show in early 2025, where we’ll unveil a commemorative plaque honoring the remarkable efforts of these local businesses and contractors. We can’t wait to share these improvements with the community and continue preserving the legacy of our theater. More updates to come soon!
